Eoin Shannon - 'Hello Forever'

Writer: The Real DingThe Real Ding

Over these last few months, Cork-based singer-songwriter Eoin Shannon has been busy crafting a fresh and distinctive direction in which to call his own. Blending his subtle Irish-folk charm with a warm and progressive approach to songwriting as often as possible, he has been quick to establish himself as one of the more alluring names emerging into the fold. And with plenty of innovation and self-discovery under his belt, he now introduces himself to the wider world with his stunning debut album 'Hello Forever', a record that presents him as an intricate and admirable storyteller.

While very much akin to the conventional singer-songwriter template, 'Hello Forever' looks to highlight the sombre and more emotive side of the genre. Channelling his inner Nick Cave for much of this new material, this new twelve-track collection finds him in a wonderfully reflective light. Whether he is embarking on a subdued attitude for opener 'I'd Have Grabbed You A Chair' or embracing a more euphoric edge for its vibrant title-track, Eoin Shannon looks to make this initial offering as broad and inventive as possible.

It may still be very early days for his career right now, but 'Hello Forever' shows there is plenty of rich and explorative ideas coursing through him right now. Moving with this subtle elegance from song to song, Eoin Shannon is kicking things off with a wonderfully captivating experience here.
