GET TO KNOW: AMillionForever

Having already spent the last few years churning out some brilliantly impactful offerings, Australian rapper AMillionForever continues his upward ascent with his progressive new EP 'DISTORTED'.

Bringing back more of that bold and bouncing energy he is known for, this new four-track collection makes for an incredibly enjoyable listen. With his smooth and driven flow riding across an anthemic production throughout, 'DISTORTED' continues to cement him as one of the more exciting names on the rise right now.

So with the new EP out now, we sat down with him to find out more about his origins and influences over the years.

What was the first band or artist you fell in love with?

I can’t decide between Bob Marley, and Whitney Houston. I was super young when I first heard their songs, and I felt the music. They’ve both made some timeless records.

Did you ever form a band when you were younger and if so, what did they sound like?

Yes, the first few tracks were not that great. It took some time to understand how to use all the recording equipment and software....so it wasn’t our fault right? haha. As time lapsed the tracks definitely got better haha.

What has been your primary inspiration in writing music?

For me, music is an outlet for emotions, feelings, and my creativity. I’ve written music from all around the world in hotels, restaurants etc; and at certain points in my life, after experiencing various situations, feelings, deep thoughts, emotions and generally when I’ve felt like expressing my creativity/ideas. In terms of creativity/ideas, it allows me to push the boundaries, challenge myself by trying different vocal and production styles and exploring other genres.

What is a song you wish you had written yourself?

Heartless by YE (Kanye West) – The ambience of the production really sits well with the lyrics. Looking back, the track was so ahead of its time.

If there was any moment in your career you could relive, what would it be?

I’d say, when I did my first solo listening party/show to support the release of one of my singles. A lot of people came to support, we had food, drinks and great music, the whole night was a vibe. I remember standing on top of the bar counter and the venue manager ignited some controlled flames while I was performing, the atmosphere was crazy. I couldn’t get some people to leave at the end of the night like, “Yo the event’s over, y'all gotta go home” and they wouldn’t leave, they wanted to keep going haha.

Which artist would you most love to share a stage with?

I’d say YE (Kanye West) because I like the way he and his team design their live shows. I’ve seen him live (on his own tour) and the stage design was dope, it’s a different aura from other live shows I’ve been to.

And is there an artist you would love to collaborate with as well?

Clams Casino’s production is dope. It would be dope to collaborate on a track. His production on ASAP ROCKY’s early tracks really sparked my interest in rap.

Where do you see yourself in five years time?

I can see myself with a strong fanbase internationally and being in a space where I can continue making the music I want to make. I can also see myself making a spark in other industries outside of music too.
