After establishing themselves with a wave of fresh and dynamic releases these last few years, emerging duo Da Messenger's recently dropped their hotly-tipped debut album 'The Journey', showcased by their vibrant new single 'My Decree'.
Channelling a smooth and breezy approach to the R&B sound that blends in shimmering hip-hop aesthetics, 'My Decree' makes for a brilliantly woozy listen. With its sweet and supple tones, sweeping atmosphere, and driven vocals throughout, these two are onto something very special here.
So with the new single available now, we sat down with them to find out more about their origins and influences over the years.

What was the first band or artist you fell in love with?
There are various gospel artists and bands that we enjoy listening to as we can relate to their songs, whilst enjoying their vocals to the song. Gospel means good news, majority of gospel songs brings determination, enthusiasm and energy in people's daily lives.
Did you ever form a band when you were younger and if so, what did they sound like?
We wish we did form a band when we were younger, we surely would have been ahead of ourselves. We enjoy the fact we decided to form 'Da Messenger's' when we did as we found that we can cater to different sounds and elements which makes us versatile.
What has been your primary inspiration for music?
Our primary inspiration for music has been our faith, we are a proud Christian music group sharing positivity, happiness and life's treasures through our unique storytelling and lyricism whilst welcoming an elevating and atmospheric new arrival of our album 'The Journey'.
What is a song you wish you had written yourself?
We are currently in the process of making our third album and we have a few songs that will surely make an impact. Our current album and our previous album have songs that exceeded our expectations, it's only a matter of time for our sound to expand.
If there was any moment in your career you could relive, what would it be?
We are just getting started with our career. We are very excited to see where our music will take us but more importantly the lives that will be transformed by listening to our positive meaningful lyrics within our songs.
Which artist would you most love to share a stage with?
We would love to share a stage with Sinach. She has a huge stage presence and connects with the audience very well. Sharing the stage with her would make the event exciting as we are an energetic duo on & off stage.
And is there an artist you would love to collaborate with as well?
Again, we would love to collaborate with Sinach as her songs are heartfelt and comes from her soul. Collaborating with her would create a new futuristic genre with a combination of soul, afrobeat, rap and melodic harmonising / singing.
Where do you see yourself in five years' time?
In five years', time we will be established across the united kingdom and around the world. Touring and performing in different parts of the world and helping the less privileged. We are blessed to be a blessing.
