Following on from a flurry of impactful offerings in recent years, fast-rising artist Rumia is back to her best once again to deliver the dreamy new single 'Shift In The Air'.

Channelling more of that rich and alluring alt-pop aesthetic she is known for, 'Shift In The Air' makes for a beautifully warm and endearing listen. With her sweet and supple voice gliding effortlessly across a progressive production throughout, she continues to shine as one of the more passionate names on the rise right now.

So with the new single available to stream now, we sat down with her to find out more about her origins and inspirations over the years.

What was the first band or artist you fell in love with?

I have to be honest...Hilary Duff was the first artist I truly fell in love with. And honestly? Her music was great! She had such catchy melodies.

Did you ever form a band when you were younger? If so, what did it sound like?

I did! I went through my punk era, totally inspired by Avril Lavigne, Sum 41, and that whole early 2000s energy. It was all about loud guitars.

What has been your primary inspiration in writing music?

My own life and experiences. Every song I write comes from something I’ve felt, seen, or lived.

What is a song you wish you had written yourself?

Oh, there are so many! But I’d have to say Space Oddity by David Bowie.

If there was any moment in your career you could relive, what would it be?

My tour in South Korea! It was surreal.

Which artist would you most love to share a stage with?

Gracie Abrams. I love her songwriting, and I think our sounds could really complement each other live.

And is there an artist you would love to collaborate with as well?

Radiohead! That would be a dream collaboration!

Where do you see yourself in five years?

Hopefully touring, playing my music in places I’ve never been, and continuing to release songs that mean something to me.
