What was the first band or artist you fell in love with?

At the age of 7 Whitney Houston, her amazing voice and talent drew me into music more seriously for the very first time. Listening to her music would really give me “goosebumps” in such a strong way and it brought to life the love I already had for music. Her unique vocal skills and powerful tone made her my big MUSE, someone I could look up to, and one day wish that I could sing like her.

Did you ever form a band when you were younger and if so, what did they sound like?

Yes, in my early teens I played with a few bands.. we were mostly doing covers and I quickly discovered that this was not going to be the right path for me.

When I started my first - more serious - music project, I actually did have a band.

We were doing pop/rock at the time… although the road to discover my sound was yet to be walked. But I definitely enjoyed those days, I learned a lot, lots of good memories, and fun gigs.

What has been your primary inspiration in writing music?

Like probably most artists out there, I have a good number of songs and artists that I admire that have inspired me in different ways. I’m not trying to replicate their songs, but I am trying to replicate the feelings awakened in me when I listen to those songs.

In other words, I just like to create something that I feel connected to.. that way I know that if I can connect to it, then others can too, whether that’s in the choice of a soundscape or a particular lyric.

What is a song you wish you had written yourself?

GOD ONLY KNOWS by The Beach Boys.

Like many of their songs they are so harmonically innovative and sophisticated, this one is for sure a masterpiece to me.

If there was any moment in your career you could relive, what would it be?

I would say the performance at The Jazz Cafè in London and the MTV Coca Cola Soundwave in Milan, this time with better songs, better production & better knowledge in general, to portray and reflect a more accurate vision of me as an artist as my musical taste has broadened and slightly shifted over time.

Also, I would re-do the video shoot I’ve done for a track featured with Flo Rida, where I totally screwed up the outfit and the label - that totally bypassed my opinion - made me look like a broomstick in front of a green screen.

Which artist would you most love to share a stage with?

Beach House, Lana Del Rey, and if I still could... David Bowie.

And is there an artist you would love to collaborate with as well?

Beach House, The Midnight, Chromatics.

Where do you see yourself in five years' time?

I’m pretty confident I will still be involved in music, hopefully to an even more settled scenario. There are other passions and interests too besides music that I am carrying out; I have designed a few Notebooks and Planners - on sale on Amazon - and more artwork and products are on Red Bubble too. I like the idea of designing products it’s definitely a good source of inspiration that fits well with the music work schedule.

Where I will be - I still haven’t fully made up my mind yet - but wherever that may be, I truly wish and hope that by then this dark cloud of violence and nonsense going on in the world will have stopped and we come together again with the best version of ourselves.

There is a chance that I might move to Turkey with my husband for a better quality of life, so it’s definitely something we are considering and are very open to.
