Following on from a string of impactful offerings these last few months, fast-rising producer SH|333|N is back on the grind once again to deliver his pounding new single 'Big Bags'.

Bringing back more of that bold and dynamic electronic aesthetic he is known for, 'Big Bags' makes for a stellar return to form for him. With its blistering textures, pulsing atmosphere, and explosive hooks throughout, he is certainly looking to get us up and out of our seats with this one.

So with the new single available to stream now, we sat down with him to find out more about his origins and influences over the years.

What was the first band or artist you fell in love with?

They were around long before I started writing electronic music, but The Chemical Brothers was one of the first groups I heard as a young dude that just blew my mind in what they were writing and producing. They were engineering sounds, songs, and compositions in ways that I hadn’t heard of before, and often in ways that hadn't been done before. I'd always been interested in different musical genres, but these guys were one of the groups that inspired me to jump into the world of EDM music and production full on.

Did you ever form a band when you were younger and if so, what did they sound like?

I did indeed. I was the vocalist / back up guitar / keyboard guy in a band with my best friend and 2 other good buddies in high school. We were more of an aggressive style rock group and played a few school gigs and parties. As teenagers, it was an awesome feeling like we had some low-key popularity! Admittedly - with the exception of our

drummer who was a legit jazz drummer - we honestly weren’t that great, but we had fun. It was during these years, though, that I started investing in recording gear and keyboards and began to naturally shift to creating more electronic music. By my second year in college, I was all in and working on my first electronic album with that same best friend. Then we started DJing parties in Northern Arizona.

What has been your primary inspiration in writing music?

I’m inspired by sounds, melodies, and artists that fall under two almost contradictory categories. On one hand, I’m a serious sucker for dark and dirty sounds and tracks that prompt my involuntary bass-face; and on the other hand, I’m inspired by melodic productions that make me feel something deep and moving. You’ll notice that my music usually falls into one of these categories, or sometimes a combination of both.

What is a song you wish you had written yourself?

Oh, man. That’s a tricky question. I’m gonna be (mostly!) honest and say none. There are so many good artists out there who are inspirational to me and absolutely deserve their place in putting out seriously great songs. I’m happy to call out just a few of these

artists in my mind, and they span a few genres of music: Subtronics, Skrillex, Levity, Sigur Ros, and Syml.

If there was any moment in your career you could relive, what would it be?

Interestingly, when my mind even casually goes to reliving past moments in my life - career or personal - there’s a certain subtle level of anxiety that arises in entertaining those thoughts, which I’m pretty sure comes from knowing in my heart that there’s no real utility in brooding over the past. Also, on a related note, I’m sure a lot of artists can resonate with not wanting to be defined by their past music and performances, hahaha. Really though, I’m much more of a ‘let’s see what new things we can create today’ kind of guy. That being said, my music career is expanding way more quickly today than it was at any previous point in my life, so we’ll see what happens. I’m just trying to take it all in and enjoy the moment.

Which artist would you most love to share a stage with?

My most recent 2025 release, Big Bags, as well as my upcoming 2025 releases, are generally musically aligned to artists like Hamdi, Levity, and Wax Motif, so it’d definitely make sense to share a stage with any of those guys if the stars were to align for me in that respect.

And is there an artist you would love to collaborate with as well?

I’d probably defer back to The Chemical Brothers again. They’re just legends in so many ways!

Where do you see yourself in five years time?

Geographically, TBD on that. I’ve been loving the nature, connections, and EDM community up here in the Pacific Northwest, but I also love traveling and seeing the world. And I’m a sucker for sandy beaches with warm water, so we’ll see. Musically, based on my current production speed, and factoring in some time off in between songs, I’d hope to have an additional 20-ish songs spanning multiple genres out by then, and of course playing large venues and festivals. However, right now I’m just throwing myself into music for the love of it, so no expectations. I’m truly happy doing what I’m doing and feel blessed that people are listening and enjoying!
