GET TO KNOW: SlickBoy Nae

Having already established himself as one of the more inventive rappers on the rise right now, Port St. Lucie's SlickBoy Nae is back to his best once again to deliver his pulsing new single 'Higher Heights'.

Lifted from his forthcoming new EP 'Dreaming 2', which is out on the 13th December, 'Higher Heights' continues that broad and riveting ascent he has been on recently. Brimming with pounding textures and his killer flow at the helm, he is definitely one to keep a firm eye on for the months ahead as well.

So with the new single available to stream now, we sat down with him to find out more about his origins and influences over the years.

What was the first band or artist you fell in love with?

The first artist I fell in love with was Lil Wayne.

What has been your primary inspiration in writing music?

My primary inspiration in writing music is my love for the craft. I really LOVE to create new music and hearing the different sounds, instruments, and overall melodies, are very intriguing to me. Also listening to new music really gets the engine going.

What is a song you wish you had written yourself?

I’ve never wanted to be a songwriter for anybody else.

If there was any moment in your career you could relive, what would it be?

I would relive the feeling of when I did a show in Miami and everyone had their flash on their phones on and just locked into my performance seeing me do my thing.

Which artist would you most love to share a stage with?

I would LOVE and I can’t wait to share the stage with J Cole and Drake.

And is there an artist you would love to collaborate with as well?

I would LOVE to collaborate with J Cole and Drake.

Where do you see yourself in five years time?

I see myself on tour somewhere in Europe performing at a sold out show.
